MiEnergy's wholesale electric power supplier is Dairyland Power Cooperative. Dairyland Power Cooperative, based in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, provides the wholesale electrical requirements and other services for MiEnergy and 24 other distribution cooperatives in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. 

Dairyland Power Cooperative generates electricity by using both traditional and renewable energy resources to provide safe, reliable and affordable electricity. Dairyland owns and operates several power plants utilizing a progressive 'all of the above' strategy: hydroelectric, natural gas, coal, landfill gas, wind and solar generation.

MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator)

As a Regional Transmission Organization, MISO is an essential link in the safe delivery of electric power across all or parts of 15 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Manitoba. MISO operates a wholesale market where electric energy is bought and sold and transmission is regulated. DPC is a member of MISO.

Alliant Energy

Alliant Energy, headquartered in Madison, Wisc., is MiEnergy’s wholesale power supplier for the service territory in purchased as part Southern Minnesota Energy Cooperative (SMEC). In 2015 SMEC, a group of 12 electric distribution cooperatives, purchased Alliant Energy’s Minnesota electric distribution assets.
