Great River Bluffs Cleanup May 5: MiEnergy Cooperative seeks volunteers
Cresco, IA | Rushford, MN (2 p.m. April 23, 2018)— MiEnergy Cooperative is hosting GreenTouch Day at Great River Bluffs State Park on May 5 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The purpose of the day is to help the park prepare for the busy summer camping season. It is recommended that volunteers bring work gloves and come dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear for a variety of outdoor cleanup activities.
GreenTouch Day is part of a statewide effort by Minnesota Touchstone Energy Cooperatives held on the first Saturday in May to lend a hand to Minnesota state parks. This year marks the 18th year the cooperative has participated. MiEnergy has four Minnesota state parks within its electric service boundary. The co-op rotates GreenTouch among Beaver Creek, Forestville, Great River Bluffs and Whitewater.
With limited budgets, park staff is appreciative of those who are able to come out to help spruce things up. Volunteers are able to visit the park for free for the day, no purchase of a one-day-permit is necessary. MiEnergy provides snacks and beverages for volunteers, please call 1-800-432-2285 or send an email to Annie Hoiland at ahoiland@MiEnergy.coop if you plan to attend.
